Its Kolkata Knight Riders vs Deccan Chargers at the Eden Gardens. Both teams lost their opening games and began IPL 2011 on a bad note but both teams will look to make amends for the mistakes made in their respective opening games.
Both Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders have a good team, a good batting line up, their teams are filled with some highly paid players International as well as domestic. So both Deccan and Knight Riders will be raring to go, especially Knight riders who will be playing in front of their home crowd, who already are furious over the exclusion of Saurav Ganguly. So this team needs to win to get back the support of the Kolkata crowds.

Kolkata Knight Riders lost their first match which was against Chennai Super Kings by 3 runs. Chennai Super Kings scored 153/4 in their 20 overs, chasing this down KKR folded up at 151/7 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Kolkata Knight riders led by this year's IPL 2011's most expensive player Gautam Gambhir need to improve on their fielding. Quite a few dropped catches and some questionable batting and bowling changes led to the downfall of Gautam Gambhir's side.
Kolkata Knight Riders snatched defeat from a victorious position and would definitely wont want to repeat that in front of their home fans. Knight Riders look a better team this year led by Gambhir and have all the caliber required to take them all the way through to the IPL 2011 finals.
The bowling against Chennai Super Kings was very good considering the fact that Chennai had some good batsmen. Both Balaji and Bhatia bowled economically and ex Mumbai star Abdullah looked good and gave an all round performance. Knight Riders have quite a few bowling options to select from and might include Laxmi Ratan Shukla for the match against Deccan.
If the bowling was good for Knight Riders then it was their batting which let them down after restricting Chennai to a modest total it was upto the batsmen to chase the runs down. Kallis and Bisla provided a fine start for Knight Riders particularly Kallis who looked in supreme form. But rest of the batsmen failed to capitalize on the brilliant start and melted under the pressure put on by Dhoni's boys.
So a team full of talent and promise needs to be patient and spend some time on the crease. A win for Gautam Gambhir will definitely cheer up the Kolkata crowd.
Deccan Chargers
Deccan Chargers lost their opening match against Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets. Deccan Chargers scored 137/8 in their 20 overs and Rajasthan Royals chased the total with 13 balls remaining and with eight wickets in hand.
137 was never a good score and it didnt get any better for Deccan as they could scalp only two of Rajasthan's ten wickets. It was a mediocre display by Deccan on both fronts and they will look to improve both in their batting and bowling areas.
Deccan Charger's new captain Kumar Sangakkara will be looking for a good outing this time around as his first match as captain of Deccan Chargers not only lead to a defeat but also him getting out without opening his scoring. After his good performances in the ICC World Cup 2011, Deccan fans would be looking upto him to guide Deccan to yet another IPL trophy.
Deccan middle order need to pull up their socks and be more consistent and pile up runs on the scoreboard. Shikhar Dhawan, Ishank Jaggi, Rabi Teja and Daniel Christian all need to chip in with some value added runs to support their top order upfront. its upto these boys to finish the game for Deccan on a high note.
Deccan bowling department looks very good, in Dale Steyn they have a formidable fast bowler who can rip through any opposition on his given day. And he was their star performer with figures of 2/18 in his four allotted overs. Although Deccan's second best bowler Pragyan Ojha took some beating for the Rajasthan Royals batsmen ending up with figures of 0/44 in his 3.5 overs of spin bowling. Their other two potent bowlers Mishra and Ishant had a decent outing but couldn't pick up the wickets and there is where their bowlers lacked and would look to notch some wickets up front.
With a decent bowling line up and formidable captain to lead them, Deccan Chargers will be looking to start their winning streak today and get the positive vibe going in this new bunch of players.
